Parkview Christian Church is part of a great unity movement. It's called the Restoration Movement, a movement within the church of Jesus Christ to restore the authority of the Lord over all things. We simply want to obey Jesus as we are taught in the Bible.
We are not part of a denomination, but rather one of over 10,000 congregations, which are simultaneously accountable to one another and to the Lord Jesus Christ. Our intention is to be just Christians - nothing more and nothing less. We take the Bible as our guide. As much as possible, we try to do things the way they were done in the New Testament.
We do not have a man-made written creed to impose on others or any kind of denominational hierarchy. If you can't find it in the New Testament, you won't find it at Parkview.
Instead, you will find real people who face real challenges. Just like the original church, our worship centers in prayer, preaching, fellowship, and communion. Our goal is to meet the needs of our church family and our community. We remain flexible in our worship forms, which is also the example you will find in the New Testament.
Like the New Testament church, we have Communion every Sunday. Each Lord's Day, we celebrate by eating bread and drinking grape juice as we remember that we are saved by the precious blood of Jesus that was shed on a Roman cross.
Baptism is no problem here. We practice the form of baptism that conforms to the New Testament pattern and is universally accepted - immersion. In this act of faith is pictured the death, burial, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
We are a church family dedicated to serving others. To become a member of this family, the bottom line is that Jesus Christ must be your Lord and Master. You don't have to be perfect - none of us are, but you must be committed to grow and serve with us. This seems like such a little thing to ask, but in reality, Jesus is asking for all that you have.
We don't choose to wear any name except the name given in the New Testament to the followers of Jesus: "Christians". While we aspire to be Christians only, we don't believe that we are the only Christians under the authority of the Bible and our Lord Jesus Christ. Our mission is to allow God to work in us, with us, through us, and for us toward that end.
We have a long way to go, but we're getting there. We are not without faults and weaknesses, but the Holy Spirit is still patiently at work, making us what we need to be. We have a lot more to tell you, and we invite you to help us change the world!

Because we respect the various preferences in worship styles, our 10:30 Sunday morning service features a blend of traditional hymns and contemporary music. To help our children learn positive values about worship at a level that they can understand, we offer "Children's Church" during our Sunday Worship service. We also offer a worship hour on Sunday evenings at 6:00. This worship hour is designed for the whole family, and features a variety of worship and teaching methods in a relaxed atmosphere of Christian love.
Many fellowship and recreational activities are available as we minister to the needs of our families. Special activities are regularly planned through our Sunday school classes and fellowship groups. We have all-church dinners four times each year, and "Linger Longer" following evening worship on the fourth Sunday of each month. There are many different activities throughout the year the entire family can enjoy. We also use our recently completed gym for a number of family and recreational activities
Sunday school begins at 9:30 each Sunday morning and features a variety of classes for adults, youth, and children. Our classes for children introduce young people to the beauty of life in Christ. We are proud to provide lessons that are true to the Bible while teaching Christian truths and values. Because the interests and needs of children change as they grow and develop, we divide the children's department into the following classes:
Cradle Roll (Birth - age 3)
Beginners (Ages 4 & 5)
Primary (Grades 1-3)
Juniors (Grades 4-6)
Jr. High (Grades 7 & 8)
Youth Group (Grades 6-12)
We currently have three adult classes, which place a strong emphasis on practical content to help you relate your faith to daily life. Though these are grouped by age, every adult is welcome to attend any class. Although each child is encouraged to attend the class for his/her own age group, any child who is more comfortable attending another class with a friend or a sibling is certainly allowed to do so.
This is our Wednesday evening time for family singing and Bible study, which meets at 7:00 pm. We offer classes for the children, as well as a dynamic Bible study group for adults.
In addition to our Sunday and Wednesday activities, we offer many opportunities for people to be involved in Christian fellowship. "SonShine Sisters" is our women's group. They hold meetings on the third Tuesday of each month. "Keenagers" is our adults age 55+. They meet at noon on the fourth Thursday of each month for lunch and fellowship. There is always something special going on in adult fellowship.
For The Kids
We love kids at Parkview, and we plan and prepare a variety of activities to introduce them to the joy of Christian life. We are especially are proud of our nursery program, which offers loving care and innovative ways of teaching the youngest members of our church family about the love of God.
In addition to a variety of classes, we also offer special activities for your children and youth. We take advantage of summer months by offering a number of special activities for children such as church camps and Vacation Bible School.
"Poiema" is for grades 6-12. This is our Junior High/High School Youth group. This age group has many activities all year as well. They will attend camp and various youth trips for a deeper relationship with Christ, but they will also be found helping with VBS, community service projects and serving banquets to learn how to serve others as Christ served us.
When kids are looking for something to do, there is always something to do at Parkview! Check out the way that we care for our kids at Parkview!
